If you’re an iPhone user, I’m sure there have been times when you’ve used your phone a lot on a particular day and you suddenly notice that the day isn’t over but your battery is low. Unfortunately, this usually happens when it’s either not convenient or possible to stop and plug your phone in. Fortunately, today I’ll be sharing a few tips that you can use to squeeze every last bit of life out of your iPhone’s battery. If you don’t absolutely need to have your phone on, you might consider turning it off which would hopefully save enough battery power to make an emergency call or text. If that’s not an option, you can switch to “Low Power Mode”. When enabled, iOS disables some features like mail fetch, automatic app updates, automatic downloads for apps like weather applications, and various visual features. The easiest way to switch to low power mode is to tell Siri to switch to low power mode. Turn off Wi-Fi if you’re not using it. Especially if you’re not near… Read More »
A few weeks ago I stumbled across a strange thing with my iPhone 6. Right after updating to iOS 9.0, there was a mysterious red dot in the upper right-hand corner of the phone icon on my home screen. Initially, I thought I must have a voicemail but it was strange because there wasn’t a number in the dot like there usually is. I tried to check for a voicemail but I got a strange message that appeared on my screen that said that visual voicemail wasn’t available. When I logged in to my voicemail to listen, I was surprised that there weren’t any new messages. In search for a solution, I started combing through the Internet and found suggestions from people to do things like making sure that I had the correct password entered on my phone. I also found a website that suggested resetting my network settings. Unfortunately, neither of these two things solved my problem. The next thing I did was chat in with Apple technical support to find a possible solution.… Read More »
One of the features that I really like on my iPhone 6 is the ability to unlock it using its fingerprint recognition functionality. When I first got my new phone and discovered this feature, I absolutely loved it! Unfortunately, this “love affair” was short lived. You see, when I first got the phone and started using the fingerprint recognition feature it was during the winter time. My hands were like baby’s hands because I wasn’t working in the yard. When spring and summer came around, I suddenly discovered that I could no longer unlock my iPhone with my fingerprint. I had four of my fingers programmed into the phone and after a few weeks of working in the yard, none of them were successfully recognized by my iPhone. Disappointed, I went back to entering my lock screen code until one day I found a quick and very simple solution. I initially thought that there was a problem with the actual fingerprint reader on my phone. As it turns out, the problem wasn’t my phone at… Read More »
