Amazing Secret iPhone Feature Hardly Nobody Knows About!
I know that a lot of the people who read FreeCellPhoneLocator.net have iPhones so today I thought I would tell you all about an AMAZING little-known secret that is available in iOS 10.2.1.
In all honesty, I just recently discovered this one myself and when I found it, I was literally blown away! I couldn’t believe that Apple hasn’t been shouting about this feature from the rooftops.
How many times have you struggled to read the fine print on a medicine bottle or maybe on the instructions for a new toy that you just bought for your children? If you’re like me, this happens all the time!
Well, there’s no need to go hunting for a magnifying glass anymore because your iPhone can do the same job but SO MUCH BETTER!
It’s really simple too but only after you’ve turned this feature on.
How to Turn Magnifier on for iPhone
- Tap Settings
- Tap General
- Tap Accessibility
- Tap Magnifier
- Turn on Magnifier
How to Use Magnifier on iPhone
You’re going to be amazed when I tell you how easy the Magnifier feature is to use. All you have to do is quickly press the Home button three times. You need to actually press the Home button until you hear it click. Three simple taps won’t work.
Triple pressing the Home button will instantly launch the Magnifier feature on your iPhone. Now, simply point your phone’s rear facing camera at some small text or something like a sliver in your finger and you’ll be amazed at what a good job the iPhone does of magnifying what the camera sees! The fine print or sliver will be displayed in crystal clarity on your phone’s screen.
For demonstration purposes, I’ve attached a screenshot to show you what a medicine bottle looks like when viewing it with the app.
How to Make the iPhone Magnifier Even More Useful
There are some really cool features built in the the Magnifier tool that you will enjoy.
- Sliding the slider to the right will make your phone’s camera zoom in closer, sliding it to the left will make is zoom out.
- Tapping on the “flash” icon will turn on your phone’s flash which sometimes helps the camera focus better and give you a crisper image of what you are looking at.
- If you tap the onscreen camera shutter release button, the tool will freeze what you were looking at so you can move your phone away from the object you are magnifying and closely inspect it.
- Lastly, you can even invert the colors or adjust them to make the image easier for you to see. I personally haven’t found a use for this feature but I’m sure there must be one.
But is This REALLY a hidden Feature?
Some of you may not think that this qualifies as a hidden feature.
However, I think it does and the fact that virtually everyone I tell about this feature has absolutely no idea that their iPhone can do this qualifies it as a secret feature in my mind.
It seems like a fair guess to assume that Apple built this functionality into iOS 10 for their visually impaired users but it really is a feature that we can all use.
I know that I use it all the time and I’m sure that once you start using it, you’ll wonder how you ever got by without it.
